Today, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, as the initiative of the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM), volunteers visited about 100 low-income families and lonely elderly people living in the capital and regions and delivered them holiday gifts.
Demonstrating the solidarity and kindness in the month of Ramadan, the volunteers prove with their tireless work that we will overcome all difficulties together even during such a complicated period as Covid-19 pandemic.
In response to the call of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in our country and support the government, the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM) has taken all necessary steps to educate people about pandemic and provide social services to people in need. The Center was established on the initiative of voluntary movements and organizations to contribute to the activities regarding to Covid-19.
It should be noted that the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers was created in 27th March of 2020 in order to support the government to prevent new risks of Covid-19 with the participation of “ASAN Volunteers” organization, “Regional Development” Public Union, “One Volunteer” Student Cooperation Public Union, “Volunteer DOST” Program, “Agrarian Development Volunteers” Public Union, “Transportation Volunteers” Program, “Formula 1 Volunteers”, “Migration Volunteers” Public Union , “Customs Volunteers” Team, “Tourism Volunteers” Organization, “Eco-Volunteers” group, “AFFA and EURO 2020 Volunteers” Program and “Young Volunteers” Movement. The work of the Center is coordinated by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
