On May 31, 2020, an online video conference was held with the participation of about 300 volunteers from most cities and regions of the country, representatives of the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM), its secretariat and founding representatives of volunteer organizations and movements.

During the video conference entitled “May Meeting of Volunteer Heroes”, participants got informed about the ways how to fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and they were also provided with information on the work done within the framework of the project. The proposals of the volunteers on the action plan for the next period were also listened.

At the same time, 30 volunteers were distinguished for their special activity in May by getting awarding title of “Volunteer of the Month”.

During May, a number of activities were carried out under the organization (AKƏM) to deal with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Considering “We are strong together!” as their priority, 323 volunteers realized a lot of activities in 31 cities and regions of the country and 31 regions of Baku under the slogan “Let’s protect each other!”.  During the activities, volunteers spread 46,350 medical masks, 93,350 gloves, and more than 200,000 booklets to citizens and generally, 60,600 citizens were educated about the pandemic.

On the occasion of the holy holiday of Ramadan, 63 volunteers visited low-income families and delivered holiday gifts to about 100 low-income families and lonely elderly people living in 21 regions and cities.

Considering the slogan of “We are strong together” by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as their priority Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers mobilized many volunteers almost in all regions and cities of the country. To date, thousands of volunteers have participated in the “Let’s protect our elders!”, “Volunteer Neighbor” and “Volunteer Donor” actions organized by the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM)
