On June 3, 2020, the next online meeting of the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM) was held with the participation of the founding organizations and the Secretariat (AKƏM). During this virtual meeting, representatives discussed the implementation of the projects to deal with COVİD-19 pandemic in May and the action plan for the past period. It should be noted that the “Let’s Protect Our Elders” campaign, launched in April in the capital and regions, was continued in May by Azerbaijani volunteers, who visited lonely elderly people and low-income families and provided assistance in meeting their basic needs. Volunteers also visited our war veterans on May 9 (Victory Day over Fascism) and low-income families and elderly people living alone on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Discussions were held on the various activities carried out within the “Let’s Protect Each Other” campaign. It was also mentioned that during this campaign, volunteers attached stickers with coronavirus guidelines in the most visited places such as restaurants, cafes and parks. Then, they exchanged views on proposals regarding the next activities of the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM).

It should be noted that the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers was created in 27^th March of 2020 in order to support the government to prevent new risks of Covid-19 with the participation of “ASAN Volunteers” organization, “Regional Development” Public Union, “One Volunteer” Student Cooperation Public Union, “Volunteer DOST” Program, “Agrarian Development Volunteers” Public Union, “Transportation Volunteers” Program, “Formula 1 Volunteers”, “Migration Volunteers” Public Union , “Customs Volunteers” Team, “Tourism Volunteers” Organization, “Eco-Volunteers” group, “AFFA and EURO 2020 Volunteers” Program and “Young Volunteers” Movement. The work of the Center is coordinated by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In his activity, volunteers were mobilized, coordinated and directed to the necessary activities in almost all cities and regions of the country under the Azerbaijani president’s slogan “We are strong together!”.
