Within the scope of “We are strong together” initiative by the president of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, volunteers have started a new interesting activity as a part of “Let’s protect each other!” campaign created by Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers (AKƏM).
During this campaign, volunteers attached stickers that indicate coronavirus guidelines in the most visited places such as restaurants, cafes and parks in 12 regions of Baku, other cities, and regions of the Republic. They put the following stickers with slogans such as “the rules are followed here” and “exemplary place” in front of the places obeying the quarantine rules and “keep the distance” and “protect each other” stickers in the public transportations and parks.
The main purpose of “Let’s protect each other!” campaign is raising awareness about social distance rules between people in the most visiting areas in order to support the governmental measures regarding preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus the country.
It should be noted that the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers was created in 27th March of 2020 in order to support the government to prevent new risks of Covid-19 with the participation of “ASAN Volunteers” organization, “Regional Development” Public Union, “One Volunteer” Student Cooperation Public Union, “Volunteer DOST” Program, “Agrarian Development Volunteers” Public Union, “Transportation Volunteers” Program, “Formula 1 Volunteers”, “Migration Volunteers” Public Union , “Customs Volunteers” Team, “Tourism Volunteers” Organization, “Eco-Volunteers” group, “AFFA and EURO 2020 Volunteers” Program and “Young Volunteers” Movement. The work of the Center is coordinated by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Considering the slogan of “We are strong together” by the president as their priority, Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers mobilized many volunteers almost in all regions and cities of the country and managed the coordination of their activities. Thousands of volunteers took part in the past activities of (AKƏM) such as “Take care of elderly people!”, “Volunteer Neighbor” and “Volunteer Donor”.
